John and Clodagh Higginson between them have spent 40 years working in local, national and international journalism. Despite both working in Los Angeles for a number of years as US correspondents they missed each other by days and met for the first time while as lobby correspondents reporting on UK Politics for Metro and The Sun.
Their first professional collaboration was a play on the Parliamentary expenses scandal which was shown at the Tabard Theatre in 2010.
John has worked as head of communications for two top London communications agencies while Clodagh most recently was political correspondent for ITV’s flagship breakfast show Good Morning Britain.
A husband and wife team John and Clodagh married in 2011 and have two young children.
Higginson PR is born out of a desire to deliver media focused PR services that achieve astounding results focused on the bottom line.
John Higginson has worked for the Evening Standard, The Sun, The People, Independent, Daily Express and Mail on Sunday and spent seven years at Metro where he was political editor based in Parliament. He spent a year as a show business reporter based in Hollywood, three years on a local newspaper and set up a community newspaper in South Africa. Since leaving journalism he has helped a wealth of clients, from Uber to Hitachi Rail and Centrica, to deliver communications success.
Clodagh was ITV Good Morning Britain’s political correspondent up until 2017 where she deciphered the twists and turns of Brexit for millions of viewers each morning. Before this she worked as Whitehall Editor of The Sun for five years. Having joined The Sun as a general news reporter in 2000, she has worked across the breadth of the paper including roles as Los Angeles Correspondent, Consumer Affairs Editor, Home Affairs Correspondent, Acting Business Editor and Political Correspondent.
She has an impressive history of breaking exclusive political stories and one of her key strengths is making complex political stories relatable to the British public.

Alex joined Higginson PR in March 2017, and specialises in delivering media and public affairs campaigns that make an immediate impact. He has extensive experience in helping clients deliver their message to a national audience via press coverage in national newspapers, radio and TV. Alex also has a background in political advocacy, and helps clients speak to key decision makers in Westminster and Whitehall.
He has delivered campaigns across a range of sectors, from healthcare to gambling. Previous client experience includes Bristol-Myers Squibb, Paddy Power Betfair and A Plastic Planet. Since joining Higginson PR, he has secured coverage for clients on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Sky News, and the Telegraph.
Alex has a Master of Philosophy degree from St Catharine’s College, Cambridge. He also secured a first-class honours degree in politics from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2014.
